NSP team rider Travis Grant won this legendary title 4 times and in 2023 Yusuke Hyogo from Japan won for the first time on Travis Grant’s board! It was Travis’ experience over the years, in this grueling race, combined with the designs of Alain Teurquetil accumulated in the current Molokai Unlimited Pro Carbon, a winning shape that performs in any downwind, upwind, side-wind, or semi-flat to choppy race you find yourself in.
Design:
– Balanced rocker to save energy.
– Integrated steering system.
– The 17’2/23 recess uses a new concept bottom that combines the added stability the legendary 2018 version had and the extreme glide these shapes are known for. This allows you to link bump after bump in an effortless way.
– Key design elements can be found in the 14-foot Sonic as well.
– The 17’2/25 recess also shares important design elements of the 17’2/23 but offers a more comfortable racing experience.
Additional Features
The board comes with neoprene handles on several balanced fixture points. 4 Drain holes quickly expel excess water from the dugout. A patented GORE® vent near the GoPro® (or GPS) fixture point prevents a pressure build-up, allowing oxygen to pass but keeping out moisture. The proven steering setup features a rudder box and an easy-to-operate pedal.

Molokai features carbon-reinforced lip and rails
By using Innegra™ Carbon for the rail lips in favor of “conventional” biaxial carbon, one of the most ding-prone areas on any race board is drastically reinforced without weight penalties. Ding resistance, durability and damage tolerance all increase, protecting your equipment.
All recessed NSP Raceboards benefit from this new construction, along with Uni-directional rail bands (on the side) and 100% biaxial carbon layups (on the deck and bottom).
Rudder and Steering
Developed to win unlimited races at all costs, NSP now offers a carbon race rudder for the most demanding racers. The current Molokai comes standard with the steering system and previous versions can be retrofitted too. The Molokai Carbon Race Rudder is designed by Trent Pedersen and responds immediately to inputs making steering your board more intuitive than ever before. Racers can set the steering sensitivity to their exact needs and emergency adjustments can be made on the water.
